Hello
everyone,
As an
aspiring author, I find it very important to support new writing
friends, especially self-published, self-promoting authors. Writer's
are kindred spirits, and this unwritten rule is not bounded by
category, style or genre.
With
this in mind, I would like to introduce YA author Emlyn Chand,
(pronounced like wand). Her new book, Open Heart, releases tomorrow,
May 25, 2012. Open Heart is the second book in her Farsighted series. As a
promotion, book 1, Farsighted, will be offered free for Kindle all
weekend. I sincerely hope you'll get to know her and her work as I
have.
Open Heart:
Simmi
Shergill's life is a mess. Her powers of psychic feeling are on the
fritz, and Grandon Township's sudden population boom has brought
quite a few unsavory characters to town. She also looks like an
over-blown balloon in her size 14 pants, but not even starving
herself seems to be working as a diet plan. Well, at least her
boyfriend, Alex, loves her so much he'd do anything for her. Last
summer he even risked his life to protect her from the mysterious boy
everyone was convinced wanted to kill her.
The problem is, she's not so sure she feels the same way. Is Alex really the man of her dreams? And why can't she stop fixating on her would-be killer, Dax? Whenever he's around, part of her wants to run screaming in the other direction while the other part longs to run into his embrace, no matter who she’d hurt or what she’d risk.
Simmi's loyalty is on the line. Who will she choose—the blind seer who loves her, or the charming telekinetic with "bad idea" written all over him? Emotions run high as the tension mounts in book two of the Farsighted series.

Thank you for the lovely introduction and the home on your blog, Kim. You're right. Indie authors really do need to stick together and support each other; all authors need to actually ;-)
It's true what you say about writers being kindred spirits. All my closest friends are writers and I always cheer them on, no matter the genre!
My closest writing friend in the world, I married ;)
You are very welcome, Emlyn. I've downloaded Farsighted and I'm looking forward to reading more than excerpts of your work when I get caught up on my reading. ;)
On a side note, I'm not sure who Kim is ... may have been an auto-correct thing. My phone does that to me all the time. lol
theevasmommy: I do believe that wholeheartedly. Most of my writing friends write works of a complete different genre than I do, but they are all classy people and amazing writers.
Thank you both for stopping by.
This sounds very intriguing, and I know I've seen Novel Publicity all over the place so it must be a great place for writers! :) I love pretty much all genres. If the writings good, and the story captivating, it doesn't matter to me what genre it is. I'll definitely be checking this one out (of course, after I check out book #1). Great post M.L. & Emlyn!
Thanks for stopping in L.J. I've read a few excerpts from Open Heart and they make me want to read more.
